Pro riders scooters are great value for money, much cheaper than most. I would never be tempted to change my scooter and it’s really good fun! I love going out on it. Look forwards to using it! Also, my medium size dog can sit on it safely, between my legs, he loves it too. You can control the scooter with one hand, it’s very responsive and a joy to own!!

Don’t believe the hype about those 30 miles per battery charge. They always say “up to 30 miles” anyway. They may as well say up to 1000 miles per charge as it is a meaningless statement. A user may only get 10 miles per charge, as the distance a users may get is dependant on a number of factors, such as the way the user actually uses their scooter. Drive at 8 m.p.h. at all times and the charge will be used up quicker. The condition of the scooter’s batteries has an affect on the scooters performance as well as the condition of the scooter itself. The users body weight also affect the distance. The heavier the user is the less distance their scooter will travel per charge. The lay of the land in the user’s neighbourhood affects the scooter. The more a user has to drive uphill the shorter the distance the scooter’s batteries will take them. Lastly the temperature of any particular day will affect the scooter’s performance. Cold winter temperatures will result in a lower performance of the batteries…
Make sure the scooter’s front wheels are properly aligned as they will quickly wear out the tyres if they are not. If the user does not have someone to maintain their scooter for them, then have puncture proof tyres fitted by the supplier before the scooter is delivered.
I found that the pneumatic tyres are easily punctured while riding on poorly maintained roads. Please note that having puncture proof tyres fitted will make the ride much harder so the user may benefit with having extra foam cushions to sit on.
Get a red coloured high-viz waterproof seat cover or a high viz works jacket fitted to the back of your seat. It’s amazing how many blind motorists are driving on British roads these days. For your safety you must do everything you can to be seen while out riding on your scooter. I found using arm signals worked better on other road users than my scooter’s noisy flashing indicators do. It can be difficult as my arms do not work as well as they used to but we scooter users need to be seen.
And be prepared for stupid antics from the country’s very worst drivers. They are the drivers who will overtake you on bends, near the brow of a hill and even on your right side as you are about to turn right. How on earth they ever managed to pass their driving test is one of the mysteries of human life.
All regular mobility scooter users such as myself, who uses their scooter everyday and in all weathers will tell any newcomer that they really do need to wear plenty of layers of warm clothing, with waterproof and breathable outer clothing together with a good beanie hat and gloves. This is a must unless a person really enjoys feeling cold for many hours afterwards. Too much clothing is never enough!
